Darlington are going for win number four when we head to York City on Tuesday night.

We go to Bootham Crescent having had the perfect start to the season. Goals from James Caton, David Ferguson and a double from Josh Gillies sealed a 4-1 victory over Alfreton. It was our third victory in a row and leaves us second in the table behind Brackley Town on goal difference.

York City are in fifth place having won 5-0 at Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday, and 2-0 the previous midweek against Blyth.. They were relegated from the National League last season and the Football League the season before, but they gained some consolation when they won the FA Trophy at Wembley with a late goal by Jon Parkin.

Darlington manager Martin Gray says that the players are in the right frame of mind for the game.

“The players are very confident at the moment,” he said. “They have worked very hard in every one of our games so far and their efforts have got us some excellent results. But they know that they must maintain this level of commitment and effort, because York are a very good team.”

This will be the 110th game between the two sides, going all the way back to 1929 and the Third Division North.

Darlington have won 36 of those games, York 45, and 28 have been drawn.

The last time the two sides met was in January 2012, just after the crisis started, and the game ended in a 2-2 draw, the same result as the reverse fixture at Bootham Crescent earlier in the season.

The Darlo team at the Arena was: Pickford, Harrison, Taylor, Brown, Arnison (sub P Gray 41), Hopson (sub J Gray 76), Rundle, Bridge-Wilkinson, McReady, Ramshaw, Bowman

Subs not used: Nixon, Lambert, Barton

Attendance 6413

Adam Rundle and John McReady scored the goals.

Kick off on Tuesday is at 19:45, updates on the game will be made from the club’s Facebook, Twitter and Website. Live Commentary will be broadcast from Darlo Fans Radio at 19:35
