Quakers are aiming to stretch their unbeaten run to seven matches at home to Worcester City on Saturday.

Last time out the Quakers beat Gainsborough Trinity 5-2 at Heritage thanks to two penalties from Terry Galbraith, as well as goals from Gary Brown, Nathan Cartman and new signing David Syers.

The win saw Quakers move up to second in the league table, four points behind leaders AFC Fylde who also picked up three points. Quakers and Fylde are due to meet on 12th November.

Quakers have scored nine times in our last two home games against Stalybridge and Guisborough, and manager Martin Gray said; “It’s important that we make chances into goals. We’ve improved in that department, but equally we’ve got to stop conceding cheap goals.

“We want clean sheets all the time, and we need to get back to a clean sheet mentality and be hard to beat in that respect.

“Worcester will be challenging in the top half of the table come the end of the season. We’ve had then watched and done our homework on them. I had Lee Hughes with me when I was at Oldham, and I understand what he’s about. He’s got a great appetite and hunger for the game still, and he’s always scored goals.”

The most productive goalscoring period for Quakers in a game are the five minutes before half time, with five goals scored.

 Worcester City come into the game in good form, having recovered from a poor start to the season. They only picked up three draws from their first eight games, but since then they have won four of their last six league games. This run of results has seen them move up to 12th in the league table.

One of the reasons for their turn in fortune is veteran striker Lee Hughes, who has scored nine times this season. Hughes who played for numerous professional clubs including WBA in the Premier League, scored 16 times for Worcester last season in this division.
