We are hoping to turn the corner when we host second bottom Leamington at Blackwell Meadows on Saturday.

Back-to-back defeats on the road away to Southport and Chorley have seen us slip into twelfth place in the table, but we’re just two points off the play off positions in a very competitive division.

On Tuesday night, Quakers were badly hit by injuries to defenders, with Gary Brown, Chris Hunter and Terry Galbraith all missing the game, and Kevin Burgess and Liam Marrs both not fully match fit.

There is one plus for Quakers – striker Nathan Cartman has returned to the club from his loan at Farsley, and he will be included in the matchday squad.

Leamington, who came up to this division from the Southern League, head to the North East having only won two of their nine games so far, losing the other seven. However, both their victories have come away from home – in midweek they led 2-1 at home against Alfreton before losing 3-2. So far they have conceded the most goals in the league (20), jointly with Gainsborough Trinity. Their goalkeeper, Tony Breedan, scored from the spot against Alfreton on Tuesday night.

They gained promotion to this division via the playoffs last season, having previously been in the National North in the 2014/15 season.

Amongst their squad is midfielder Joe Clarke who played for us in the Conference in the 2010/11 season.

The two teams have never played each other before.
