Quakers into the quarter finals of the Durham Challenge Cup
Darlington 4 Stockton Town 0
Quakers are through to the last eight of the Durham Challenge Cup thanks to a first half hat trick by Harvey Saunders.
Quakers, who included nine players that appeared at Chorley last Saturday, took the lead in the fourth minute when Jordan Nicholson split the Stockton defence for Saunders to run on and beat Stockton keeper Josh Moody.
Stephen Thompson then went close from outside the area, and Mitch Glover fired straight at Moody with a free kick.
Quakers went further just before the half hour mark when Jordan Nicholson hit the post with a left foot shot, and Saunders, following up, tapped in the rebound.
And Saunders completed his hat trick just before half time when Quakers won possession just outside their own box, and a swift counter attack ended with Nicholson setting Saunders up to fire the third.
Half time Darlington 3 Stockton Town 0
Stockton hit back in the second half, and Darlington keeper Jonny Maddison pulled off an excellent save from Jamie Ward.
Saunders then had another goal disallowed for offside, before Maddison made good saves in quick succession from Steve Roberts and Peter Bulmer.
Stephen Thompson was denied a fourth by a good save by Moody as Quakers steadily regained control.
Sub Brandon Morrison made it 4-0 near the end when he pounced on the loose ball after Moody had failed to hold Harry Stansfield's shot.
