Quakers looking for back-to-back home wins

Could be back on top tonight

Darlington are looking for back-to-back home wins against Southport tonight.

Quakers beat Spennymoor 3-2 in a thriller last Saturday, and they'll be looking for their second home win over Southport this season, having beaten them in the FA Cup at Blackwell Meadows earlier in the season.

If Quakers win, they will go above current leaders AFC Fylde in the table, and if second placed Kings Lynn drop points against Bradford PA, then they will go top.

Here are assistant manager Darren Holloway's thoughts on the game:

League position:   3rd (played 27, won 15, drawn 5, lost 7, goals for 53 against 37, points 50)

Home form played 14, won 7, drawn 3, lost 4, goals for 25, against 21, points 24 (6th best in the league)

Leading scorers (all matches) Mark Beck 18, Jack Lambert 15, Jacob Hazel 14

News:

  • New signing Niall Brookwell is included in the squad
  • So are last week’s signings Nathan Newall and Theo Williams
  • David Wheater is injured
  • Southport beat Quakers at Haig Avenue earlier in the season, Quakers beat them at Blackwell Meadows in the FA Cup
  • Adriano Moke suffered a back injury last Saturday, but should be fit
