Quakers want to add to York City win

Quakers looking for back-to-back wins

We host second bottom Ashton United looking to make it back-to-back home wins for the first time this season following our impressive 5-1 victory against York City on Boxing Day. The win was our first in nine games and has moved us up to 16th place in the table.

Ashton United also picked up a crucial victory on Wednesday as they won 4-2 at neighbours Curzon Ashton to end a six game losing run in all competitions. The result means they are now only one point off safety and are four points behind ourselves.

They have picked up more points away from home than in Ashton, but this week’s win was their first on the road in the league since September. They have conceded the most goals in the division with 55 and have the joint worst goal difference of minus 28 along with bottom of the table Nuneaton.

Our meeting earlier on in the season saw ourselves come from 2-0 down at half time to earn a point through a Stephen Thompson penalty and a Harvey Saunders goal.
