Darlington head to Gloucester on Sunday looking to make it three wins in a row in the National North.
The Quakers have made an impressive start to their campaign in the second tier of non-league football. Following an opening day draw with Altrincham, victories against Boston United and Curzon Ashton have seen us move up to sixth in the league table. We were briefly top of the table after Monday night’s 2-1 away win at Curzon Ashton.
Assistant manager Brian Atkinson said; “We’ve been able to compete in this league and we’re quite happy, but it’s really early days and we have to keep it going. We’ve got the resilience that we had last year, and the quality has shone through at times.
“We still have to work on our game management.”
Gloucester have an identical record to ours after three games having won two and drawn one so far. They also have the exact same goals scored and conceded. They started the season with a draw at Salford City before victories over Gainsborough and Worcester.
Luke Hopper scored a hat trick on Tuesday night for the 3-2 win at Worcester.
Gloucester City (4-3-1-2): J Singh, K Thomas, S Hamilton, J Deaman, L Hall; C Knowles, J Hanks (C Dinsley 66), T Webb (c); , E Williams; J Parker (Z Kotwica 86), L Hopper. Subs not used: S Avery, M Richards, C Reid.
Since 2010 they have ground shared with Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road. They have been in temporary homes since 2007 after the club was affected by the Gloucestershire floods. This is the eighth season in a row they have been in the Conference North, the highest level they have played at. Last year they finished in 15th place four points above the relegation zone.
Kick off on Sunday is 3:00m, updates on the game will be made from the club's Facebook, Twitter, Mobile App and Website. Live Commentary will be broadcast from Darlo Fans Radio at 2:50pm
