Darlington could clinch the league title on Tuesday night with a win against Grantham Town, if Blyth Spartans fail to beat Rushall Olympic at Croft Park.
The Quakers are two points ahead of Blyth Spartans having played one game less than their title rivals. Darlington will seal the title with four points from their final three games, due to having a 11 better goal difference than their rivals. Darlington’s remaining games are at Whitby Town on Thursday night and Rushall Olympic on Saturday. Blyth’s final league game sees them host Marine.
Darlington’s latest victory came at Spennymoor’s Brewery Field ground on Sunday against Stamford, 2-1, after the game had been put back a day due to the pitch being waterlogged 24 hours earlier.
Quakers could reach a double century of points and goals on Tuesday night, they have currently got 98 points from 43 games, and have scored 97 goals along the way.
