Quakers sign Danny Ellis

New centre half joins the club

Quakers have today completed the signing of central defender Danny Ellis following his release by Farsley Celtic.

Danny, who is 35, started his career at Bradford City, before moving on to Stockport and Droylsden, before spending ten years at Guiseley where he made nearly 400 appearances and helped them to promotion.

He then joined Harrogate Town but when they turned full time, he decided to remain part time and joined Farsley Celtic. He also helped them win promotion from the EvoStik League.

He was a regular at Farsley for four seasons, but has now decided to leave the club.

Darlington manager Alun Armstrong said; "We need somebody who is going to boss people about. He has told me that he still wants to play as high as he can, and he wants a fresh challenge."

We would like to welcome Danny to the club, and hope that he will enjoy plenty of success with us. He will be included in the squad for our home game against Telford on Saturday.

We would also like to thank Farsley for their help with Danny's signing.
