Quakers sign defender Patrick Almond

Dual registration basis

Darlington have today completed the signing of defender Patrick Almond on a dual registration basis from Shildon.

Patrick, who is 20 today, started his career at Sunderland as an 11 year old, and was a regular in their under 23 team before he went on loan to Blyth in the middle of last season.

He was a regular at Blyth before he returned to Sunderland and was released.

An injury from a car accident meant that he didn't play for anybody until last month, when he signed for Shildon in the Northern Premier League.

Alun said; "Patrick will provide us with some cover in the centre of defence over the rest of the season."

We would like to thank Shildon for their co-operation with the dual signing.
