Quakers sign Diogo Barbosa

Portuguese midfielder signs for the club

Quakers have signed midfielder Diogo Barbosa.

Diogo, who is 26, started his career as a youth playing for several clubs in Portugal, as well as for Watford.

He signed for Dulwich Hamlet in 2019 and played for them in National League South, before moving to Xylotymbou in Cyprus and then Mount Druett Rangers in Australia.

The club has received international clearance for him, and he is now added to the squad ahead of tonight's game at Bradford PA.

Darlington manager Alun Armstrong said; “He’s a box-to-box midfielder. He’s nice and aggressive, very tidy and very technical. Sometimes you lose that physicality with the technical players we’ve got. I’ve been impressed by what he’s done in training. He’s got a good pedigree, he’s played in the National League before and is something different.”

We would like to wish Diogo all the best during his stay with us.
