Quakers sign Joe Leesley on loan

Utility player arrives from Boston

Darlington have today signed utility player Joe Leesley on a month’s loan from Boston United.

Joe, 28, started his career at Winterton Rangers, and then played for Matlock and Alfreton before moving on in 2016 to Harrogate Town, whom he helped win promotion from the National League North in 2018, and then the National League in 2020.  He scored 34 goals for Harrogate in 148 appearances, including 22 in season 2017-18. Not only he is a goalscorer, but he can also play in other positions on the left side.

Harrogate loaned him out to Boston for all of last season, and he scored 5 goals in 39 appearances for them, before making the move permanent during the summer. He has made 13 appearances for them this season.

Joe goes straight into the squad for Saturday’s top of the table clash at King’s Lynn.

We’d like to thank Boston for their help in loaning the player.
