Barnsley loan two players to Quakers
Quakers have today signed central defender Will Smith and midfielder Romal Palmer on a month’s loan from Barnsley.
Will, 20, made his way through Barnsley’s Academy and was named the Academy’s player of the year in the 2015-16 season. He has become a regular in the club’s Under 23 side, and has also been a member of the first team squad on several occasions, making his debut in the Checkatrade Trophy game at home to Bradford City in mid November.

Romal, 20, started his career at Manchester City’s academy and joined Barnsley in February 2016. He progressed quickly into Barnsley’s Under 23s, and in the summer signed a one year extension to his contract.
Romal scored for Barnsley Under 23s in their 2-0 win over Leeds earlier this week.

Both Will and Romal go into the squad for Saturday’s away game at Altrincham.
We would like to wish Will and Romal all the best in their stay with us (interviews with them both follow this morning on the official website), and we would like to thank Barnsley for allowing us to take them on loan.
