Darlington FC have donated £250 to Daisy Simpson, who is fundraising to help feed hungry children in the town.

9 year old Daisy, who plays for our Under 10 girls team, started her campaign last Thursday, and already she has provided much-needed food for five organisations in the town -a fantastic gesture!

Her mum, Cheryl, said: "Daisy had the idea last week when she saw about Marcus Rashford and his efforts to help hungry children, and she decided that she wanted to do something.

"At first she only asked a few people for help, but it's snowballed very quickly. We went to Morrison's on Sunday, and with the money that's been donated, we bought five huge loads of shopping and passed the food on to five organisations in the town, who will then distribute it. Cornerstone Arts, for example, are having a packed lunch giveaway this week.

"We're all very proud of what she's doing to help those in need."
