Quakers to enter new Under 23 league

Darlington are one of ten clubs who have expressed interest in playing in a new midweek  Under 23 league organised by Durham FA from next season.

Quakers are expected to use the league as an opportunity to give Academy players experience at a higher level, and to give fringe first team players and players coming back from injury, some match practice.

The teams who have entered are:

  1. Bishop Auckland FC
    2. Chester Le Street Town
    3. Consett AFC
    4. Darlington FC
    5. Gateshead FC
    6. Guisborough Town
    7. Hartlepool United
    8. i2i International Soccer Academy
    9. Park View Sport Academy
    10. Sunderland AFC

The league will also be operating sin bins, and each club can name 3 outfield overage players in their squad, and one keeper.

Durham FA are hoping that more clubs will enter the league, and will announce more details soon.
