The reserves had a great victory at Hartlepool when they returned to winning ways in the Wearside League.

The lads took the lead through Joey Smith after just 30 seconds, and then two successful penalties by Nathan Stephenson put them well on top.

Hartlepool pulled a goal back in between the two penalties, but then they had a man sent off for two yellow cards.

Even though they were up against ten men, Quakers still had to work hard, and it wasn’t until Joey Beauchamp scored the fourth that they could breathe easily.

Beauchamp wrapped up the victory with a goal in the last minute.

Joint manager Mark Fanning said; “It was a great win after the defeats and draws that we’ve had recently.

“We played some good stuff at times, and we defended well when we had to, particularly when they came at us in the second half. But the fourth goal killed them off.

“We’ve got a week off, something that we’ll make the most of before our next game.”
