The reserves could go top of the Wearside League table tonight!
The lads are looking for their fourth straight win at Hebburn Town Reserves, the latest victory being a 5-0 win over Stokesley last Saturday, after previously beating Annfield Plain 8-1 and Hartlepool 5-1 in the previous games. They are currently in fifth place, two points behind joint leaders Sunderland West End, Redcar Athletic and Boldon CA.
Joint manager Mark Fanning said; “We’ve been playing very well recently, and the lads are very confident. However, the lads know that they must reproduce the same form that they’ve been showing in recent matches.
“We’re going for revenge as well, because Hebburn beat us earlier in the season in the Alan Hood Cup.”
Nathan Stephenson is on top form at the moment having scored six goals in his last two games, while James Beauchamp and Joey Smith have also been amongst the goals.
Thanks to 18 goals in the last three matches, the lads are also the top scorers in the league with 39 goals.
Tonight’s opponents have played one game fewer than our lads (10 against 11), and have a worse goal difference.
