Darlington Reserves 4 Hartlepool 2
Darlington Reserves finished their home fixture in style with a great 4-2 derby win over Hartlepool at Eastbourne on Saturday.
The reserves leapfrogged over Hartlepool into seventh, with one game remaining of the Wearside League season at Cleator Moor Celtic this Wednesday night.
Joint manager Mark Fanning said; “We were the better team from start to finish, and it was great to get back to winning ways after last week’s defeat.
“There were some very good performances, while Arran Wearmouth played the first hour without any reaction to his injury.”
Hartlepool took an early lead, but Lewis Walton equalised with a curler, then Nathan Stephenson scored with two free kicks with Walton scoring in between before Hartlepool scored a late consolation.
