The reserves can forget about the league on Saturday when they go to Redcar Athletic in the Wearside League’s Shipowners Cup.
The reserves have had a good start to the league season with three wins and a draw from their seven league games, to put them ninth in the table. They played on the north west coast on Wednesday night, going down 4-1 at Cleator Moor Celtic.
Joint manager Mark Fanning said; “There were some good individual performances on Wednesday and we played some good football at times, but we lack a little physical presence at times. We’re looking forward to a break from the league, we want to do well in the cups.”
This will be a tough game for them against Redcar, who are currently fifth in the table.
The games are coming thick and fast for the lads, they have another midweek game coming up, away to Harton and Westoe.
