The reserves have a local derby of their own in the Wearside League on Saturday.

The lads are at Hartlepool, who play on the Gray Field, for what is sure to be a keenly-contested game. It’s maybe not on the same level as the traditional Darlington v Hartlepool derbies, but there will be just as much passion and commitment.

Joint manager Mark Fanning said; “Everybody is really looking forward to this game, we want to make sure that we will come out on top.

“The lads put in a good performance in midweek, and we’ll be looking for at least the same again, but they must reduce the number of mistakes that they are making. They are costing us goals.”

However, four players will be facing fitness test including keeper Matt Bancroft

Quakers had a good 2-2 draw at Harton and Westoe in midweek to put them eighth in the table, while Hartlepool are on the same points but with a slightly worse goal difference.
