Darlington Reserves lost 4-1 at home to fourth placed Silksworth in the Wearside League on Saturday.
Ethan Harker scored for Quakers when they were already 4-0 down, and joint manager Mark Fanning said; “We did a lot better against Silksworth than we did earlier in the season when we lost 7-0.
“I thought that this time we gave a much better account of ourselves, but we didn’t deal very well with their passing, movement and strength.
“We started to play really well in the last 15 minutes, when the shackles were off so to speak. Ethan scored and we had a couple of good chances, but it wasn’t to be. The difference was that Silksworth took their chances and we didn’t take ours.”
