Darlington Reserves are now in the top half of the Wearside League table after a superb 3-0 away win at Seaham Red Star reserves on Saturday – their fourth successive win.
Considering that when Horden became part of the Darlington set up in October they were 19th in the table, to see that they are now ninth is testament to their steady improvement and coaching.
They have played more games than all of the teams around them, so they may drop two or three places, but the future looks very promising.
Joint manager Mark Fanning said; “We could have been 5 or 6 up at half time because some of our football was superb.
“Their keeper had a great game, he pulled off several good saves.
“We’re in the top half of the table now and on a decent little run – we’re looking good at the moment.”
Nathan Stephenson scored twice in the first half, with Kurt Matthews scoring the third near the end.
