Darlington Reserves 7 Prudhoe 1
Darlington Reserves thrashed Prudhoe 7-1 to move up to 13th in the Wearside League, with seven different players getting on the scoresheet.
Quakers tore Prudhoe apart from the first whistle, and built up a four goal lead before half time.
“It was a really good performance,” said joint manager Mark Fanning, “probably our best of the season so far.
“We went 2-0 up at half time, and after Prudhoe pulled a goal back at the start of the second half, we stepped up a gear to score five more times.
“The result shows how much we have improved since we last played them earlier in the season when we lost 4-0. Prudhoe couldn’t cope with passing and movement, and Dale Milburn was a handful all afternoon, they couldn’t cope with him.”
Kurt Matthews, Tom Young, Nathan Stephenson, Reece Allinson, Danny Wheeler, Lewis Walton and Dylan Crooks all scored.
MF said; “We scored some really good goals. Lewis Walton’s was arguably the pick of the bunch with a right footer over the keeper.”
Quakers are at home to South Shields Reserves this Saturday, kick off 2pm at Eastbourne.
