Statement from John Tempest DFCSG Director Darlington Football Club
It is with deep regret and a heavy heart to hear Dave Mills has decided to resign from his role of CEO of Darlington Football Club, however Dave’s health is more important to him and his family and one’s own health is key to a happy life so we wish him all the best moving forward.
On behalf of the Darlington fans new and old I would like to thank Dave and Joanne for their huge commitment over the last four years and Dave’s tireless enthusiasm which I’ve seen first-hand over the last 6 months where he has galvanised the volunteer staff across the club with his positive “can do” attitude, the club will definitely be a sorrier place without him.
Dave’s exit is at a time when will be entering into a key time in the Club’s history. I would like to confirm its very much business as usual, the club will launch a major fund raising initiative very shortly and talks with DRFC are nearing a successful conclusion. Over the last 6 months the DFCSG has in its role as Corporate Director and major shareholder been working closely with Darlington 1883 Ltd, however moving forward we will need to appoint two Directors to the board of 1883 and I would encourage anyone with time to give and the appropriate skills to contact myself on john.tempest@darlingtonfc.org to discuss this opportunity further.
Finally, we all continue to work towards a successful Football club where we build on the stability achieved over the last few years.
