Darlington Football Club would like to thank the large number of fans who attended Saturday’s home game with AFC Fylde.
The official attendance of 2001 – all of whom were well-behaved (thank you) -- was the joint highest for a Quakers home game at Blackwell Meadows, the previous figure being set for the home game against Guisborough in May 2013.
Director John Tempest said; “It was fantastic to see the ground full of fans, all enjoying what was a great game of football in what could have been our last game at Heritage Park.
“We hope that all the Darlington fans who attended Saturday’s game will come along to Blackwell Meadows, and bring their friends with them! Thanks for your support."
This is a big week for Blackwell Meadows, with several meetings scheduled with the FA, Darlington Borough Council and other bodies. Only when all concerned are happy with the ground and facilities, will Darlington FC be able to play at Blackwell Meadows. We’ll keep you updated.
The highest gates for Darlington home games at Heritage Park are:
2001 v Guisborough (May 2013) v AFC Fylde (November 2016)
1987 v Spennymoor (April 2015)
1986 v Team Northumbria (April 2013)
1926 v Ramsbottom (April 2014)
1876 v Bamber Bridge (May 2015)
1832 v Spennymoor (December 2012)
