The club is sad to learn about the death of long serving supporter Michael Kilbride at the age of 71.
Michael first started supporting Darlington when he was at school, and watched Quakers regularly for well over 50 years until recently. On Wednesday morning, his daughter, Diane, wrote a poignant note to the club on Facebook (she has given us her permission to use her note):
My dad missed today’s game…. He followed Darlington all his life but unfortunately passed away in the early hours of this morning aged 71.
The only reason he joined Facebook was in order to follow Darlington when he couldn’t physically attend himself. Darlington, please do your best for him, he never lost his faith in you whatsoever.
As a club, we are very proud that Michael spent all his life following the Quakers.
Michael’s funeral is at Darlington Crematorium on Friday 29th January at 1.45pm.
The club would like to pass on its sincere condolences to Michael’s wife and family.
