MOTM - Lewis Meecham

Following last week’s patchy performance, it was important that this week we improved on our work rate, decision making and concentration.

Today the boys didn't disappoint, apart from a brief few minutes in the second half where we fell asleep at the wheel we looked comfortable. Owen up front was again fantastic with another first half hat trick, the best of which was a cheeky lob over the keeper from 20yards.

Ashton fresh back from trials at Barcelona ( so he said !!) slotted straight back in to CM and won the middle of the park and with us also winning battles on the wings with Luca, Jamie and Alfie we restricted them to only a handful of half chances.

MOTM Lewis Meecham playing at the back was awesome. Every time they even looked like building up an attack he was there, won the ball and played out getting us on the front foot. He’s starting to build a great partnership with Reuben who again gave a very strong performance covering when needed and getting us forward quickly we looked strong at the back.

Luca scored with a great volley following a dangerous cross from Ashton and there was a confident finish from Alfie after some lovely 1-2s on the edge of their box.

Well done boys.
