Under 12s lose at home to Redby

Darlington U12s 1 Redby U12s 8

Three defenders down and playing third top, it was always going to be a hard game, but the lads got a shock how hard it was going to be. From the start Redby piled on the pressure and very quickly went 2-0 up. Several more attacks, from Redby, had Darlington pinned in their own half for most of the first half with Lewis Collins making several clearances. Tommy made tackle after tackle to try and keep the lads in the game! Lewis made an amazing double save to stop another goal and the ball was eventually cleared. The passing started to pick up with Darlington trying to press up the pitch, Spencer and Jack getting through on goal, but only to have Redby counter attack and score again and again.

Darlington U12's 0 Redby 6

After a long half time talk, the lads took to the field for the second half and immediately came out attacking, Jack found himself through on goal from a precision Dylan pass, again Redby broke on the counter attack to make it seven. The lads kicked off again and seemed to settle more into it. Pass after pass started, Tommy placing some fantastic crosses into the box. Sam, Dylan and Murray played some great passing football to Spencer and Jack up front, chance after chance started. With Josh, Lewis and Tommy settling the defence line, Jack eventually got the ball in the net for Darlington, his second in his second game. Tried legs eventually got the better and Redby finished it off with a minute to go with another goal.
