Darlington FC Youth U12s 2 v Aycliffe Youth 3

MOTM was Jamieson Sams for a great goal and a constant hard working display on the right wing.

This 4th round league cup tie against 1st div Aycliffe was always going to be a tough game and a good guide to see how far this Darlington side are off playing in div 1!!

The game started at a great pace set by Darlo and their opponents were shocked and couldn't cope with Darlo who scored twice in the first 15 minutes and also created more chances too and totally outfought and outplayed their div 1 opponents and proved what a good team they are and why there have only lost once all season in the league.

The outstanding Jamie Diamond turned well and shot past the keeper for the first and then he set up the energetic and pacey wide man Jamieson Sams who brilliantly left footed in to the net from outside the area.

The game changed just before half time and in the second half because Darlington having five subs constantly had to keep rotating players and disrupting the team shape and also playing players in different positions, so this had a knock on effect and let Aycliffe back into the game and they scored three goals in second half to win 3-2.

Darlo can take great credit from this game as in spells they played their div 1 opponents off the park in a great team effort!!
