Under 14s Feethams through to cup final
U14 Feethams 4-2 Lambton Street
Report by Adam Hudson
League cup semi final.
Started off very slow and not switched on at all and we found ourselves 1-0 down within the first minute. Luckily we pulled it back to 1-1 with a well worked goal by Tyler Kirk down the right hand side after a great through ball by our right back Nathan. We somehow found ourselves 2-1 down after a lapse in concentration from a defending corner.
We came back at them and ended the half 2-2 after superb running from Tom Blackham keeping the ball alive and the goal getting converted again by Tyler for his second of the game.
We went into half time at 2-2 but without having to work hard and none more than Brad Warburton pulling off some very good saves to keep our hopes alive.
Half time 2-2
Darlington started bright and started to take control of the game. A few changes settled the team and we took the lead with another goal and hat-trick hero Tyler Kirk.
Darlington continued to apply pressure but still made the game hard for ourselves but a late finish in the game by Josh Hatton secured the game and route to the final 4-2
Man of the match Brad Warburton.
Shotton u16 0 Darlo Quaker u15 s 2
Report by Stephen Luck
Darlo travelled to Shotton in the league and hoped to keep pressure on the rest of the teams above them and keep up their winning streak. Darlo saw the return of goalkeeper Oscar Luck who made his first league start after a long injury nightmare. Oscar kept his team in the game with a superb save from a free kick early in the game and commanded his box well. Darlo went two up in the first half through Coleby Shepherd and Oscar Taylor and took control of the game.
Second half Darlo dominated again but couldn't capitalise on all their possession finishing deserved winners 2-0
South Shields 1 v DFC Quakers Under 14s 3
Match report by Steve Cotterill
DFC Quakers u14 had a tough test against a strong South Shields side . Darlo dominated the first half and wasted several chances before the impressive Connor Brown’s corner found Daniel Adok who slotted the ball home to put the Quakers 1-0 up. South Shields grew in to the game and had a great shot which-was heading for the top corner but Matty Cotterill made s great save tipping the ball over for a corner.
HT0-1
Second half South Shields came out strong and equalised with a great strike finding the bottom corner to make it 1-1.
The rest of the half was pretty even chances at either end. With five minutes remaining Matty Callender took s great corner which was converted by Bobby Gray to put Darlo 2-1 up. Two minutes later a great cross from Colby Agnama found Connor Brown who converted brilliantly with a clever flick to put the game to bed
Under 8s lose 5-1 away from home
Report by Martin Williamson
Sponsor: Webster developments
Scorer: Kai Martin
Man of the match: Alva Williamson
The boys started the game in their high tempo usual way against a side who had only lost one game all season.
Feethams took the lead through a smart finish by Kai Martin.
The boys were without a goalkeeper today and tried 4 different alternatives through out the game. The boys went into the break 3-1 down but never let their heads go down or work rate decrease.
Every single player came off the pitch rosey cheeked, out of breath and played some good football with each player completing their individual tasks.
The boys were very disappointed at the final whistle but shouldn’t of been as with a goalkeeper it would have been a different score line.
Great effort boys, very proud.
