Under 14s win for their new manager

Darlington travelled to Swalwell FC who are currently sat bottom of the league. Darlington started off quick and got an opener after 2 minutes through George McCawie.

Darlington continued to dominate and we managed to double our lead through a goal scored by Tom Blackham after 11 minutes.

Darlington started to take control of the game and had the majority of the possession and looked the most comfortable team in the game.

Darlington switched off for 2 minutes towards the end of the first half which luckily for us Lewis Johnson pulled off a great save to keep us in the game leading 2-0.

Darlington the out the game out of reach as Sean Chindanyika scored from a tight angle to make it 3-0 before half time.

Darlington made a few changes the the second half and we continued to be the stronger side and threatened to score on multiple occasions which we were unfortunate not to turn in to more goals.

Darlington had a lot of success down the wings with Alex Tweddle and Tyler Kirk dominating the left side of the field and Sam Pocock and Ben Jackson doing the same on the right hand side.

The game was sealed after 65 minutes when Simmi tucked away a well worked counter attack to make it 4-0.

All the boys played well for the first game under new manager Adam Hudson.

The boys move in to a semi final next weekend so let’s see what we can do then!

Feethams Under 15s 0 Marton Under 15s 6

We welcomed Marton to Eastbourne hoping to avenge a heavy defeat away in the League Cup. Darlington started with a defensive looking 4-5-1 formation hoping to stifle their opponents’ dangerous midfield. They did so just that in the opening exchanges but had to soak up a lot of pressure in the process. Their resistance was broken after fifteen minutes a headed goal at the back post breaking the deadlock. Five minutes later it was two, catching the boys still recovering from conceding previously. They gathered themselves but can count themselves unlucky to concede a third on the stroke of half time.

Out for the second half the lads with renewed vigour took the game to their opponents. Unlike the first half Darlington started creating chances themselves. With the chance to possibly get themselves back into the game with a goal or two they continued to impose themselves on the game. Marton’s attacks were a lot less frequent but around the twentieth minute they struck to put the game out of reach. Two more were added before full time to slightly flatter the visitors.

The score line could’ve have been a lot closer with a little luck here and there but the boys certainly applied themselves to eliminate some of the memories from the one sided League Cup defeat.

The boys were magnificent. They started off pressing high up the pitch from the opening whistle. They were back on the big pitch and played some brilliant football. Everything we had practised in training was implemented within the game.

Kai Martin opened the scoring with a great finish before our opponents equalised against the run of play. Kai added to his tally to take the boys into the break with a 2-1 advantage.

The second half started the same as the first with the boys work rate being relentless. Kai completed his hat trick before Alva added 2 further goals and Mason grabbing a well deserved goal. Our opponents scored a late consolation.

Special mention to the opposing keeper who was outstanding today.

Mason Theaker and Jenson Golightly was solid at the back. Alva Williamson worked relentlessly for the team. Harry Ward was like a wizard with the football. Jack Cameron made some great runs with and without the ball. Kai Martin scored a hat trick but it was his all round play that earned him man of the match. Joe Webster was solid in goal when called upon.

Brilliant boys!!!
