The Under 15 sponsored by Baltic training services and Billinghurst George & partners travelled to Houghton Albion in the quarter final of the league cup.
This was Darlington’s first game for seven weeks and this showed from the off as Houghton had Darlington pegged in their own half and only some outstanding goal keeping from James Thorpe kept Darlington in the game .
Darlington started to settle as the half went on and got a foothold in the game on 35 minutes when free kick specialist Harry Noble curled a 30 yard free kick against the Houghton bar and Adam Lamb smashed home the rebound from all of two yards to send Darlington in with a 1-0 lead at half time.
Darlington started the second half more brightly, moving the ball quicker and pressing Houghton further up the pitch and were rewarded on 58 minutes and Bailey Howarth headed home a corner to give Darlington a 2-0 lead .
Houghton where then reduced to 10 men for an off the ball incident to which Darlington took full advantage of the extra man and scored from the move of the match when Bearpark turned his marker in the box and fed Dylan Coates who smashed home from 12 yards.
Overall a great result against a strong Houghton team .
