Darlington Youth Under 17s 6 Washington Newtown Jaguars 1
A tremendous performance all round for Darlington Youth U17s as they faced Washington Newtown Jaguars in the league cup 3rd round .
The scoring was opened midway through the first half by Dale Milburn, who volleyed his effort into the net. Five minutes later Darlington continued to capitalise, added another goal, this time finished by Bradley Kilpatrick to double the home lead. This scoring attitude continued, as just before half time, Lee Hume fired a long range effort into the back of the net, making it 3-0.
Once the teams restarted a similar trend showed, the home team pressing high and with just over 10 minutes gone Joseph Smith scored the team's fourth. Shortly afterward a player was sent off for the away side, after a very late and aggressive challenge on Lee Hume. The restart from the sending off was a nervous one for the home side, which Washington quickly capitalised on, scoring their first of the match.
Despite conceding the Darlington side continued to pressure and drive forward, scoring again with Jonty Gray on 70 minutes. Having the extra man the home team were able to keep long spells of possession, scoring one final goal in the 84th minute, by Lewis Cocks.
Overall a dominant and confident performance, leading Darlington Under 17s into the next round of the league cup.
MOM Lee Hume, for an excellent display and a wonderful goal.
