Durham County Under 17s 1 Darlington Youth Under 17s 3
Another very good display from the under 17's in the league at 4th placed Durham county.
Darlington started the game very brightly , some good slick passing on what appeared be a 2G pitch , against the run of play Durham took the lead on 11 minutes from a soft free kick , Darlington struggled to clear the ball with any real purpose , and Durham struck the ball into the net from the edge of the box.
Then a period of dominance from Darlington , creating chance after chance ,but it was starting to look like these misses were going to prove costly , when in the 39th minute Luke Wilkinson ran through on goal and casually slotted the ball past the keeper.
Darlington kept playing the remaining minutes of the first half on the offensive , but again were finding it hard to get the goal to put them in front .
Second half began as the first ended with chances being created by Darlington , in the 49th minute a strike from Lee Hume from outside the box found its way into the net and put them 2-1 up.
Again Darlington kept pressing , playing some of the best football we have seen this season , defensively they were good also , not giving Durham any real chances.
Dale Milburn added a much deserved 3rd on 76 minutes with a very good header from an excellent move and cross , even more chances were created in the remaining minutes but none were taken .
Overall a very good display all round , tight at the back with very little threats on the Darlington goal , midfield bossed the game , and the forwards worked very hard and created many many goal scoring opportunities
