Durham County started the first half very strongly as they had the majority of possession and scored four goals in the space of 25 minutes. Darlington then started to dominate play more and creating a couple of really good chances, Darlington finally scored through Harry Gill in which he received the ball down the line and nutmegged the full back and slotted it in the far bottom corner to make it 4-1 going into half time.

In the 2nd half Durham County scored early on to make it 5-1 but Darlington then had another good spell on the ball which ended up in scoring another goal, Luke Jenkinson latched on to a header from Jamie O'Brien and finished it calmly into the net to make the score 5-2.

Durham County then bounced back straight away and scored from kick off. With Durham County 6-2 up they then received a penalty in which Darlington's keeper Andy Coulson pulled off an unbelievable save on to the post to keep the score at 6-2. With about 10 mins to go Durham county had a free kick in a threatening position which was struck hard in the top corner to make the final score 7-2 .

Coach Anthony said "A great experience for our U17s against a top of the league U18s side."
