Golden Flatts V Darlington FC Youth U9

The under 9s visited Golden Flatts in their latest outing in the league.

Zach Judson started in goal with a defence made up of Ben Snowden, Charlie Cole and Max Atkinson.

Jack Shaw, Harry Gunnall and Will Coxon provided the attacking options for the side.

Oliver English and Jack Thompson were joined on the bench  with new signing Oliver Beacom, who is still waiting for his transfer to be finalised.

The game was tough from the start, freezing cold weather conditions and a poor pitch making life hard for both teams.

The first chance of the game was taken when the Golden Flatts striker fired into the roof of the net from inside the box.

Darlington hit back when Jack Shaw created a good chance which was eventually fired over by Harry Gunnall. Will Coxon had another chance minutes later but couldn't get onto the end of a through ball from Charlie Cole.

Darlington got themselves back into the game with Will Coxon tapped home at close range. His first goal for the club.

Darlington pressed and pressed, and pressed a little more but the home defence held strong and give little opportunity.

Man of the match went to Ben Snowden for a strong display at the back.
