The Under 8 Quakers have won the Darlington Sport Winners Scheme award for being the team of the year!

The lads are showing a lot of promise, and are having a great season with the chance of winning the league cup.

Several of them are being watched by Middlesbrough and Sunderland (even at this young age) in their games in the first division of the Teesside Junior Football Alliance Under 8s age group. They’re also in the quarter finals of the cup, and last summer won a round robin tournament.

Manager Brad Blythe said; “The boys have been a very strong group since the first training session when they were all aged 4 and have developed and progressed massively in the last couple years. The kids fully deserve this award for their dedication too myself and assistant manager Adam Morley. This group of kids is a pleasure to coach and manage, and hopefully one day and play for Darlington FC first team.
