The Under 9s are doing well after their performance against Norton and Stockton.

This being the first game back for the U9s since Christmas and in miserable weather conditions saw

Zach Judson, Issac Marr, Ben Snowden, Charlie Cole, Jack Shaw, Oliver English and Will Coxon starting the first game of the new year.

The opening ten minutes saw both sides struggle to settle, but it was Darlington who struck first. Thanks to Jack Shaw after a one-two with Oliver English and darted across the field.

Half time came and went, with Harry Gunnal and Max Atkinson replacing Issac Marr and Oliver English.

It didn't take long for Harry Gunnal to get show what he is made of, when a great team move was finished off, with a calm finish into the net.

Darlington pressed for more, and eventually got what they were after.

Charlie Coles curling effort from outside the box found its way in the right direction.  And then again seconds after that the ball fell lose to Cole who was in space, but didn't need asking twice and finished it off.

Will Coxon had the pick of the chances but the Norton keeper won that individual battle on this occasion.

The last few minutes were seen out with Darlington holding strong at the back. Jack Thompson who replaced Ben Snowden, held tight to see the game out.

Man of the match went to Charlie Cole, who despite playing out of position showed what this team is made of.
