Last weekend during the game against Colwyn Bay -- when we had nearly 1,000 hits to view the updates of the game -- we passed the 700,000 hits mark.
Considering that the website was created in March last year, it is a fantastic achievement, giving us an average number of hits per day of between 2,000 and 2,500.
The website is becoming more and more popular, and the introduction of a match package which includes preview, commentary, updates, stats and highlights has led to even more hits.
In total, the site has now had over 1.5 million page views from fans in over 170 countries, including Dubai, New Zealand, France, Croatia, USA, Turkey, Hong Kong and Australia.
Chief executive officer Dave Mills said; “To achieve this number of hits in the 10 months since the new club website was launched is nothing short of outstanding and credit goes to Ray Simpson who leads a skilled and highly committed team of volunteers. But it isn't just the volume of traffic that impresses me about our official website... it's the professional image of the DFC brand that the website creates, it's the quality and variety of news and other articles we release daily, it's the ease with which it allows fans to buy club merchandise online, it's the simple fact that our website is as good, if not better than many full time professional clubs, and let's not forget that all this is achieved by an entirely voluntary group of people who dedicate their time for your club. I thank every one of them!”
