Thursday 21st April 2022:

TJFA Boys U16 Division 3:

Darlington FC Foundation 5-1 Darlington TSC

Shay Simmons (3), Ethan Cuthbertson & Leo Pontone

POTM: Shay Simmons

Team Coach Grant Cuthbertson said; "Tonight's game was very much a game of two halves! In the first half,  we dominated the game, playing some really pleasing football that resulted in us going 3-0 up at half time. The Second half saw us become complacent and sit back, with TSC grabbing a goal back into the game. This sparked a reaction from our lads, and we added a further two goals to win the game comfortably in the end".

Saturday 23rd April 2022:

RFYL Girls U11 League Cup:

Norton & Stockton FC Vs. Darlington FC

Team Coach Mick Walton said; "A week on from our first defeat of the season saw us travel to Norton knowing it would be another tough game. The girls bounced back from last weeks defeat by showing great spirit & energy as well as some great football. In a game of few goals, the final outcome was a draw but a brilliant effort from our girls. We were unable to single out a player of the match as it was a massive team effort and they all deserved it!".

RFYL Girls U16 Premier Cup:

Darlington FC 3-4 Boldon CA FC

Goalscorers: Brooke G, Nicole G & Elisha W

POTM: Nicole G

Team Coach Scott Buckton said; "Another great game of football against the league and cup winners. We know it’s always tough and the girls played excellently first half with some of the best football they’ve ever played. We found ourselves 3-1 up at half time! Unfortunately, the girls ran out of steam and Boldon showed some clinical finishing in the second half to take the lead late on.

JPL Boys U14 National Cup:

Darlington FC 2-0 West Hull Yorkies

Goalscorers: Leon Griffiths & Jesse Nelson

Team Coach Michael Eggleston said; "Two evenly matched teams battled it out today, and I couldn’t be prouder of the way we dug deep to secure a win. It was level at halftime, despite us having 2 or 3 good chances to go ahead. Griffiths finally broke the deadlock midway through the second half, with a lovely touch and left foot finish on the turn from the edge of the area. Nelson wrapped things up with 5 minutes left, springing the offside trap to run on and coolly lob the keeper. This gives us another home tie against Team 780 in the next round".

Sunday 24th April 2022:

TJFA Boys U13 First Division:

Northallerton FC 2-1 Darlington FC Development

Team Coach Lee Hutton said; "A game played on a small pitch that was firm and bobbly, we had quite a lot of possession but couldn't create many chances. Northallerton went 1-0 up midway into the first half from a looping shot that went into the net. It stayed like that till half time. In the second half, we told our boys that they needed to pick up more first and second balls and be more aggressive attacking the ball from corners and crosses. This seemed to work as a well delivered cross was met by the Head of Paddy Key who made it 1-1. Midway through the second half, Northallerton scored their second when a corner was spilt and went straight into our net. I didn't think that we deserved to lose the game, however there was no real quality".

TJFA Boys U16 Third Division:

Kadar FC 1-1 Darlington FC Foundation

Goalscorer: Ethan Cuthbertson

POTM: Liam Mason

Team Coach Grant Cuthbertson said; "On a windswept morning at Acklam, Darlington started brightly, keeping the ball as on the ground and playing some lovely intricate football. Despite this, we struggled in the final third, and went in at 0-0 at half time. Early into the second half, some good play down the left by Leo Pontone who crossed for Ethan Cuthbertson to put us 1-0 up. We continued to play some good football and had a firm grip on the game until a silly mistake gifted Kadar with a penalty to make it 1-1. This goal seemed to inspire the home team who started to play with more dominance and if it wasn’t for Liam Mason in goal we probably would not of shared the points".
