RFYL Girls U14 Premier Division:

Boldon FC 4-1 Darlington FC Quakers

Goalscorer: Ella L

POTM: Scarlett W

Team Coach Shaun Mackenzie said; "Another good performance for the Quakers girls but not the result they wanted. Game started off with a fast tempo and Boldon were awarded a penalty, a minute in. Erin pulled off a magnificent penalty save down to her right and the game kicked on from there. Boldon went 2-0 up but Darlington had chances and got back in the game with a goal from Ella just before half time. Second half started of the same and both teams were creating chances. With 20 minutes to go and Darlington pushing for a an equaliser, Boldon were awarded another penalty and this time scored to make it 3-1. Darlington kept battling and can be proud of their performance, Boldon got another goal in the last minute with a well worked corner routine".

RFYL Boys U8 Division Three:

Darlington FC Vs. Wreckenton

Team Coach Chris Fenwick said; "A good performance from Darlington today. With only five boys, they all put in a massive effort to control the game from start to finish. Good combination play involving DT4 allowed HF7 & AS8 to put Darlington firmly in control at half time. A long range goal from Wrekenton after halftime seemed to liven up the opposition with JP22 making some good saves. Darlington got back on the front foot and The first half goal scorers added to their tally’s before OM9 got a goal to cap off a good performance".

RFYL Boys U10 Premier Division:

Darlington FC Feethams Vs. Newcastle City Juniors Napoli FC

POTM: HS

Team Coach David Boardman said; "After a sluggish and laboured start to the game, we managed to take the lead through our forward SA. This spurred the lads on and we dominated the rest of the first half. At half time, we spoke about winning the 50/50 duels and to move the ball quicker. NCJ changed there tactics and went with 2 big lads up front & after a couple half chances we changed our shape to combat this. SA grabbed second goal of the game to give us some breathing space to see the game out. We didn't play our greatest football today, but we battled well and were resilient throughout and the boys are really starting to gel as team".

RFYL Boys U10 Premier Division:

Darlington FC Quakers Vs. Stockton Town FC

Goalscorers: NP, IT8 (2) & Own goals (2)

Team Coach Lee Childs said; "A really strong first half performance from the boys saw us race in to a quick lead. Great play by IT8 saw him put in a dangerous ball in to the box which Stockton struggled to deal with and turned in to their own net. Minutes later, NP7 produced a carbon copy, getting to the byline and providing a dangerous ball which was again turned in by the Stockton defence. The third goal came from a moment of magic from NP7, picking the ball up and driving past players then producing an excellent low finish past the gk. A fourth Followed before half time with a quick throw in taken by TB5 which IT8 took well to turn and finish last the gk. The second half we continued to dominate the game but thanks to some late challenges from both teams the game became scrappy. Stockton scored from a long ball which we didn’t deal with well before FC10 was fouled in the box after a clever turn and IT8 converted the penalty to finish off the game. Overall another good solid result and excellent first half performance".

Sunday 13th November 2022:

TJFA Boys U7 Argentina Division:

Guisborough FC Vs. Darlington FC

Goalscorers: OM (6), SM (3), OR (3) & WS (2)

POTM: WS & LT

Team Coach Wayne Rudd said; "Player awards went to WS, who started the match with two quick goals and then moved to defence and did a great job, and goal keeper LT who did a great job when called upon and then had a great game in the development match. Well done both! Hats off to the Guisborough team and coaches who never stop trying and smiling totally enjoying their football and making it a pleasure for everyone involved. Both teams carried out a perfect minutes silence today, well done to all".

TJFA Boys U9 Red Division:

Darlington FC Vs. Stockton FC

Team Coach Paul Robertson said; "Another unbelievable display of football from the lads, they are going to take some stopping this season! The football we play at times is a pleasure to watch! Unbeaten all season and only conceded 2 goals in all competitions, well done lads".

TJFA Boys U10 Red Division:

Boro Rangers Whites Vs. Darlington FC Quakers

Goalscorers: FC10 (2) & IT8

Team Coach Sam Pascoe said; "A very competitive game against a good Boro Rangers side in foggy conditions. We were slow out of the blocks, and were made to pay early on through a good finish by the Boro Rangers forward. We then grew into the game and got an equaliser through a pinpoint low driven free kick by IT8. We took the lead shortly after, a clever through ball by IT8 found FC10 in the box who finished with great composure into the bottom corner. We added a third after TB5 won the ball back well on the half way line that ended up with JN9 playing a great ball across the box to FC10 who again finished well to put us 3-1 up at half time. We started the second half much stronger then we started the first, but were caught out on by good Boro Rangers counter attack to get them back into the game at 3-2. A special mention to FC10, who not only had a great game up front today, but made a crucial defensive interception at 3-2. A very enjoyable competitive game between two good footballing sides".

TJFA Boys U10 Blue Division:

Hurworth Albion FC Vs. Darlington FC Feethams

Team Coach Dom Webber said; "Darlington took an early lead from a flowing passing move and looked set to win quite easily but Hurworth dug in and made things difficult for them, creating some good chances of their own. In the second half Darlington pressed well and deservedly scored the second goal of the game. After that there was only going to be one winner and Darlington underlined the victory with a couple more goals after creating many chances".

TJFA Boys U11 White Division:

Darlington FC Quakers Vs. Primrose Hill FC

Goalscorers: TM, LN, EB & WB

POTM: WB

Team Coach Scott Mallen said; "First win of the season for the team. Straight from the first whistle the players pressed Primrose Hill and took the game to them. The first goal coming in the second minute from a lovely strike from outside the box. This remained the score in the first half even though there was a lot of good football been played. Going into the second half the players continued the way they finished the first. Ten minutes played Darlington scored there second goal, coming from a bit of brilliant footwork and slotted into the back of the net. Immediately after a quick break led to a Darlington corner, this seen a bit of a scramble to get the ball cleared from Primrose Hill, unfortunately for them it fell to a Darlington player who comfortably side footed it into the net to make it 3 Half way through the second half, again another corner seen the ball fall to a Darlington player who struck it beautifully into the top of the net to make it 4".

TJFA U11 Challenge Cup

Darlington FC Feethams Vs. Eaglescliffe Elementis Blues

Team Coach Paul Orton said; "It was a good display by the boys today. We are pleased to progress to the next round of the Cup. The 14 boys involved all gave a good account of themselves. After a couple of weeks without a game we’ll look to build on this as we head into next weekend’s league fixture. Unlike previous weeks, we were ruthless in front of goal today. The quality shown in both build up play and our finishing was exceptional. The first goal was scored on the 10th minute when MD9 picked out FR5 superbly. FR5 used his body well, turning and driving forward before hitting a low shot to find the keeper’s bottom right hand corner. The second came on 17th minute with a good EM7 strike from the edge of the box. On the 21st minute TO6 scored with a thunderous right foot shot after he advanced onto the ball just inside the area. The second half goals were assisted with quality by JL11 on the left wing. On the 35th minute, JL11 beat his opponent as he entered the final third before whipping a ball in low between the keeper and the defender, LE12 met perfectly to score. In a similar fashion, on 39 minutes JL11 again went past an opponent, this time picking out TO6. TO6 shot with a first time left footed volley which flew into the net. Our opposition played some good, well processed football. It was good to see and gave the match fluidity which was also helped by good refereeing. They did get on the scoresheet themselves leaving with some consolation. A good day for us. Up next, we make the trip to Harrogate Town midweek before heading to Boro Rangers Oranges next Sunday".

TJFA Boys U16 Division Three:

Leven Juniors FC 2-3 Darlington FC

Goalscorers: Lennon Harland (2) & Luca Smith

POTM: Noah Graves

Team Coach Dan Hook said; "Darlington were fortunate today to come away with the 3 points against a well organised Leven side. Darlington started extremely well, imposing themselves physically and playing some nice slick football in the opening exchanges. When Reuben Scotter played a tidy through ball to Lennon Harland, there was only one outcome as he rounded the keeper to slot home. From here though, Darlington seemed to lose their way and the next 60 minutes was a mess of poor decisions, slack passing and uncharacteristically low effort. Midway through the half Leven leveled the game with an excellent goal after a defensive error led to the opportunity. Darlington huffed and puffed but just couldn’t connect with that final pass or shot as frustrations began to grow. Unsurprisingly, Leven took the lead with another nice goal leaving Darlington with work to do to save the game. However, as good teams always do, they did indeed find a way. Some lovely wing play from Troy Hollow was followed up with an excellent deep cross that Lennon simply couldn’t miss from a yard out to grab his second goal of the day and the equalizer. As the clock rolled into the final minute, another bit of industrious wide play caused havoc in the home teams box with Luca Smith being in the right place at the right time to tap home Lennons squared header. #limbs as all the Darlington team and substitutes ran to corner to celebrate this unlikely comeback win. At the end, the players agreed it was a poor performance but the elation of a last minute winner should buoy the side on to perform better in the coming weeks".
