Saturday 29nd January 2022:
RFYL Girls U11 Premier Division:
Darlington FC Vs. Deerness Valley Panthers FC
Team Coach Mick Walton said; "Today saw the girls take on Deerness Valley Panthers in our last league game of the season. Darlo had the better of things in the first half but went in goalless at half time. Second half saw the girls up their game and claim victory. The win today meant we had won the league whilst also managing to go all season unbeaten, a fantastic achievement from all the girls".
RFYL Girls U13 Premier Division:
Darlington FC Quakers 3-3 Newton Aycliffe Youth FC
POTM: Grace Dobson
Goalscorers: Grace Dobson (2) & Eva Leadbitter
Team Coach Shaun MacKenzie said; "A later kick off than usual for the Quaker girls today, with an 11.30am KO. The wind was really starting to pick up by then and both teams deserve full credit for battling on in such difficult conditions.
Not much football was played in the first half and Aycliffe found themselves deservedly 1-0 up at the break. Darlington were against the wind second half and needed to work hard to get back into the game, they didn’t make it easy for themselves, conceding a second early on.
But the girls never gave up and started to keep the ball on the ground and played some decent stuff in the second half. Eva grabbed a goal back powering home and Grace went on to get the equaliser. Aycliffe went back in front and the Darlo girls dug deep to get another equaliser. Probably a fair result in the end and that’s now Quakers 5th draw of the season".
RFYL Girls U16 Premier Division:
NSG Panthers FC 0-5 Darlington FC
Goalscorers: Brooke G (3), Nicole G & Heidi S
POTM: Brooke G
Team Coach Scott Buckton said; "The girls made it 4 wins fro 4 for the start of the year after a great win in tough windy condition. The referee called both managers over on the 65th minute mark to ask if we want to continue the game, in which the Opposition manager said no to end the game there with the current score and result".
RFYL Boys U9 Premier Division:
Pass Soccer Greens FC Vs. Darlington FC
Goalscorers: Finley Childs (2), Oliver Rand & Jay Brydon
Team Coach Lee Childs said; "Terrible conditions to play football in this morning, but the lads worked hard and managed to play through the conditions to run out deserved winners in the end".
TJFA Girls U13 Division One:
Darlington Feethams FC 4-4 Skelton FC
Goalscorers: Anna C (2), Chloe S & Liv C
POTM: Chloe S
Team Coach Adam Cameron said; "The girls started slow and found themselves 1-0 down inside the first few minutes. The girls reacted well and managed to take a 2-lead, but Skelton fought back to take a 3-2 lead at half time. The visitors found themselves 4-2 up shortly after the break, but again the girls reacted well again and grabbed 2 late goals to rescue a well earned draw".
JPL Boys U12 Premier Blue:
Darlington FC 6-1 Wakefield FC
POTM: Tom
Goalscorers: Tom (3), Sol (2) & Oscar
Team Coach Richie Allen said; "A game of two halves in outrageously difficult conditions. Well done to Wakefield for travelling quite a distance for such a challenging game due to weather conditions".
JPL Boys U13 League:
NYSA FC 2-3 Darlington FC
Goalscorers: Niall Armstrong (3)
Team Coach Lee Hutton said; "In a game which in all honesty I don't think should have been played due to ridiculously heavy winds, the boys battled well".
JPL Boys U14 League:
Bradford FC 1-6 Darlington FC
POTM: Jesse Nelson
Goalscorers: Jesse Nelson (2), Alex Carter, Leon Griffiths, Harry Clarkson & Dominic Thirlwall
Team Coach Michael Eggleston said; "Atrocious wind and a heavy pitch meant this was never going to be a classic. I’m proud of the way the lads adjusted to the conditions though, playing some nice football in spells and scoring some tidy goals".

TJFA Boys U9 League Cup Quarter Finals:
Darlington FC Development Vs. Darlington FC Foundation
Development Goalscorers: Finley Childs (4), Isaac Tonge (2) & Laiton Fleming
Foundation Goalscorers: Seth Boardmam
Darlington Development Team Coach Sam Pascoe said; "The boys started slow and went 1-0 down early on after being caught out too easily on the break. Once we got our first goal back we never really looked back and went on to be convincing winners to go through to the semi-finals".
Darlington Foundation Team Coach Dom Webber said; "The Development boys did very well to overcome a tenacious performance from the Foundation lads, who actually took an early lead, catching Development out with a quick break. After the equaliser the Development team found another gear and didn't look back from that point, playing some excellent football and going in 6-1 ahead at the break. However, the Foundation boys regrouped and showed great resilience in the second half, never giving up and only conceding one more goal. The Development team are going through to the semi final but all of these boys showed today that DFC have a bright future".
TJFA Boys U10 Division 3:
Darlington FC Development Vs. Leven FC
Team Coach Chris Coyles said; "Our toughest game to date against a cracking Leven team!".
TJFA Boys U13 Premier Division:
Bishop Auckland St Mary's FC 1-4 Darlington FC
Goalscorers: Lennon Knox (2), Paddy Key & Joe Raper
Team Coach Lee Hutton said; "This morning we played Bishop Auckland St Mary's away. On a relatively small pitch we played some good passing football, the boys won their personal battles and all in all looked solid all over the pitch. A big shout out to the young referee who had a fantastic game".
TJFA Boys U16 Division 3:
Barnard Castle FC 1-0 Darlington FC Foundation
POTM: Liam Mason
Team Coach Grant Cuthbertson said; "With a team ravished still by Covid, and in blustery conditions the boys gave their all. Unfortunately, we switched off in the dying moments and a long ball from the goalkeeper, with the wind behind caught our defence out. Barnard Castle took advantage and slotted the ball home".
TJFA Boys U16 Division 1:
Darlington FC Development 1-4 Boro Rangers FC
Team Coach Wayne Gredziak said; "Today we came up against a strong Boro Rangers side but we held our own and it was 1-1 at HT. However, only having 11 fit players took its toll in the second half".
