Saturday 12th February 2022:

RFYL Boys U9 Premier League:

Hebburn FC Vs. Darlington FC

Goalscorers: Finley Childs (2), Oliver Rand (2), Jay Brydon (2), Jude Nicholson, Isaac Tonge & Laiton Fleming

Team Coach Lee Childs said; "Our lads were very professional throughout the match today, from the first to the last whistle. We pressed really well as a unit and once in possession we transitioned into attack really quickly and with purpose. The passing throughout the team was really neat and today resulting in some well worked team goals. Overall a very good team performance which seals the premier league title with 2 games to spare. The final goal of the game marked our 100th league goal in the RF League with only 19 conceded in the 20 games played to date. It’s a pleasure coaching these boys!". Team Coach Sam Pascoe also said; "The boys are an absolute pleasure to coach for both me and Lee and we couldn’t be prouder of them for their efforts so far this season. The stats speak for themselves in terms of the boys footballing ability but the way the boys conduct themselves on and off the pitch is fantastic and they really do represent Darlington FC in a positive manor".

TJFA Boys U8 Division 1:

Darlington FC Vs. Hartlepool FC

Goalscorers: Archie Parker (4), Edward Harrison (3) & Zach Lyons

POTM: Edward Harrison & Zach Lyons

Team Coach Nick Lyons said; "A great performance by the lads today in tough conditions. Disappointed to concede 2 right at the end".

TJFA Boys U9 Division 1:

Darlington FC Development Vs. Boro Rangers Thornaby FC

Goalscorers: Isaac Tonge (3), Jay Brydon & Jude Nicholson

Team Coach Sam Pascoe said; "The boys were good in possession in the first half this morning but were slow to react to losing possession and were at times a bit sluggish but we found ourselves 2-1 up at half time. The boys were much improved in the second half, playing some lovely football and ended up winning the game quite comfortably with a 5-1 win. Midfielder Isaac Tonge wrapped up a great game with a strike from distance to claim his hat trick. Well done to the Boro Rangers Thornaby lads who battled hard and pressed well and made it really difficult for our lads all game".

TJFA Boys U9 Division 2:

Boro Rangers Reds Vs. Darlington FC Foundation

Goalscorers: Maks & James

POTM: Maks

Team Coach Dom Webber said; "I couldn't be prouder of these lads. They didn't have any luck this morning, nothing was going their way in miserable weather and yet they ground out a result showing great character. Despite some great pressing and passing moves, we went in 0-0 at half time. Early in the second half Maks broke the deadlock with a neat finish after an unselfish pass from James. Unfortunately, Boro equalised shortly after on one of their counter attacks, but we didn't have to wait too long until James fired in the winner. There was a long wait until the final whistle in which we narrowly missed several chances to put the game to bed, however we held out for a terrific battling victory".

Darlington FC U9 Foundation Secured a Great Victory in Tough Weather Conditions

TJFA Boys U13 Division 1:

Darlington FC 2-2 Hartlepool FC

Goalscorers: Lennon Knox & Paddy Key

Team Coach Lee Hutton said; "With a much depleted squad and no subs in horrendous conditions the boys battled well against a decent FC Harlepool side".
