Darlington manager Martin Gray thought that Quakers' performance “wasn’t bad” at Barwell on Saturday.

Quakers missed a chance to go second with the 2-1 setback on Leicestershire – only the third on the road in the league this season -- and MG said; “I didn’t think it was a bad performance, and in some stages of the game we did ever so well. We could have scored a couple of goals from setpieces.

“We were unlucky with the first goal, because the ball took a massive deflection and wrongfooted Peter Jameson.

“The second one was sloppy from our point of view, and because of that, we gave ourselves a mountain to climb.

“I didn’t think it was a bad performance, but having said that, we’ll be working on a couple of things in training this week.

“One thing we can’t affect are the conditions, they were horrendous.”

Quakers’ next game is at Frickley in the Integro Doodson League Cup on Tuesday night, weather permitting.
