Quakers crashed out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle with a surprisingly below-par performance against their EvoStik Premier Division rivals, who are now at home to Northwich in the next round.
“That performance was certainly unexpected, because we did really well in our previous four or five games,” he said. “We had a situation in which several people didn’t do their jobs properly, we weren’t at the races across the board.
“The key now is how to react it, and we’ll be addressing it in two training sessions this week. We lost at Workington, and then bounced back with four straight wins. The defeat just goes to show that nothing should surprise you in football.”
Quakers’ next game is against Hyde at Heritage Park on Saturday, and then on Monday night they make the journey down the M1 to Derbyshire in order to play Ilkeston.
