Clinton Morrison to play in Legends game.
Clinton Morrison is the latest big name to be named in the MarathonBet #NonLeagueChallenge Legends match on Sunday 29th July.
Morrison, 39, started his career at Crystal Palace in 1998, and in four seasons with them scored 71 goals in 180 appearances before he moved to Premier League club Birmingham City for £4.25 million.
He scored 16 goals in three seasons for them, before returning to Selhurst Park for £2 million in August 2005, and in three seasons scored 41 goals in 124 matches. He went on to become the fifth highest scorer in the club’s history.
After two seasons and 23 goals in 101 games at Coventry City, he moved on to Sheffield Wednesday in August 2010, then MK Dons, Brentford, Colchester and Exeter in the Football League, and Long Eaton and Mickleover in non league before he announced his retirement from the game.
Morrison has 36 caps for the Republic of Ireland, scoring 9 goals. He was part of their squad that got to the 2002 World Cup finals.
He now works in the media, and is part of Channel 5’s Saturday night football coverage.
