Don Cowan

Former goalkeeper passes away

The club is sad to learn about the death of our former goalkeeper, Don Cowan.

After he had completed his National Service, Don joined us in 1952 and made his debut at Workington in November 1952, going on to make 17 appearances in the next two seasons.

He then joined North Shields before becoming well respected in local footballing circles for his strong support for grassroots football. He was a member and vice-president of Durham FA.

We would like to pass on our condolences to his family and friends.
