A second half goal by Cameron Salkeld lifted Quakers further away from the relegation zone.
It wasn’t the prettiest of games with very few chances, but Salkeld’s fifth goal in as many games gave Quakers the points and their seventh win in nine games.

Matty Cornish played a good diagonal ball out to the right for Cameron Salkeld, but the left back just managed to get a tackle in midway inside his own half.
Quakers won their first corner on 4 minutes , but it was headed away at the near post.
Sports created a great chance on 7 minutes when the ball was floated over from the left for former Darlington player Kaine Felix to head just wide.
Sports had another chance on 10 minutes when Dan Jarvis put a left foot shot wide from 25 yards.
Salkeld won Quakers’ second corner on 19 minutes, but Cornish’s corner was easily held by Elsom in the Sports goal.
Quakers had a half chance when Will Hatfield threaded the ball through for Mitch Curry inside the area but Elsom came out and blocked.
Sports won their first corner on 29 minutes, but the ball ended up safely in Matty Young’s hands.
Quakers had their first real chance on 36 minutes when Salkeld found Curry with a good ball down the right and Curry ran into the box with a defender putting him under pressure, and fired into the side netting.
They nearly scored just on half time when Cedric Main found Kallum Griffiths on the overlap, and the full back’s low cross was sliced over his own bar by a defender.
The second half started with a move by Sports that ended with Young comfortably saving a shot from Felix from outside the area.
Sports went close when Josh McCammon played a 1-2 down the left to get him into the box, but he fired wide of the far post, then Felix curled a right foot effort over the bar from a tight angle.
Quakers made two subs on the hour, Jarrett Rivers and Jake Lawlor coming on for Ben Hedley and Mitch Curry, and they had a rejuvenating effect on their side.
Quakers got a free kick for a foul on Main just outside the area, but Barrow’s free kick went into the wall.
Quakers had a half chance when Hatfield found Salkeld just inside the area, and Salkeld curled a left foot shot into the keeper’s hands.
Sports nearly scored from a corner on 68 minutes which was curled in by Jarvis and Jones had a header blocked on the line.
Quakers took the lead on 74 minutes. Cornish crossed from the left for Platt to exchange headers with Main and nod the ball down for Salkeld to guide into the bottom left corner of the net, for his fifth goal in as many games.
It was nearly 2-0 when Rivers and Platt were involved in a patient build up and Rivers put the ball into the six yard box where Salkeld just failed to get a touch.
Then Main cleverly pulled the ball back from the bye line for Hatfield who couldn’t get his shot on target.
In stoppage time, Salkeld put Main through, but he fired past the far post.
