Blyth remain in second place after also picking up four points this week. They came from behind to win at Colwyn Bay, 3-1, on Saturday. Zac Corbett gave Colwyn the lead only for three goals in the last twenty minutes from Danny Parker, Michael Richardson and Alex Nicholson to earn the points for Blyth.

On Tuesday they were held, 1-1, at home by Ashton United. Gary Gee gave Ashton an early lead with Sean Reid levelling for Blyth.

Nantwich Town drew 1-1 at Workington at the weekend. Connor Tinnion scored for the hosts, before Joshua Gordon earned a point for Nantwich. They then scored a late winner at Sutton Coldfield Town in mid-week, Lewis Short scoring the only goal of the game.

Salford City are up to fourth and have games in hand on all those around them. They continued their 100% away record this season with two further wins on the road. On Saturday two first-half goals from James Poole and Daniel Webber were enough for Salford to come away 2-0 winners at Sutton Coldfield.

On Tuesday they won 3-2 at Colwyn Bay.  James Poole twice gave Salford the lead, but goals from Luke Denson and Lloyd Ellams levelled for the welsh side. However, Danny Webber scored an injury-time winner for the Ammies.

Stourbridge slipped down to fifth after a defeat at home to Ilkeston on Monday. Ben Billingham had given the hosts the lead, but two goals in ten minutes from Daniel Udoh and Dexter Atkinson turned the game in Ilkeston’s favour.

Ilkeston also won at home to Buxton earlier in the week, as they leapt up to sixth place. Bradley Barraclough gave Buxton the lead before a Michael Williams double and one from Atkinson gave Ilkeston the three points.

Buxton dropped down to eighth this week after two defeats. Their second loss came on Tuesday night, 2-1, at Skelmersdale United. Gerard Kinsella and Tom Ince helped the hosts to the points, before Niall Doran scored a consolation for Buxton.

Barwell round out the top ten, despite a defeat at Hyde United on Saturday. Scott Spencer scored the only goal of the game for Hyde after just four minutes. However, Barwell were able to bounce back with a comfortable win at Grantham in mid-week. A Sam Purcicoe own goal gave them the lead after just two minutes, with further goals from Cameron Powell, Alex Tomkinson and two from Brady Hickey sealing a 5-0 win for Barwell.

At the other end of the table Ramsbottom United picked up their first victory of the campaign to reduce the gap between themselves and the rest of the league. They won at home to second bottom Whitby Town 4-1 on Tuesday night, a result that still leaves the visitors without a win on the road in the league. Jack Tuohy scored twice along with goals from Alexander Meaney and Sam Grimshaw for Ramsbottom. Michael Roberts scored Whitby’s consolation from the penalty spot.

Earlier in the week Ramsbottom had rescued a point at home to Mickleover Sports. Mickleover had lead through Jake Bennett, but Jordan Bove scored a stoppage-time equaliser for Ramsbottom.

Whitby’s struggles continued at Rushall Olympic where they found themselves three goals down inside 37 minutes. Massiah McDonald scored two for Rushall with Carl Palmer getting the other. Lee Mason pulled one back for Whitby, but they could not get anything from the game, as they sit five points off safety.

Stamford remain in the relegation zone after picking up three points from their two games this week. On Saturday Thomas McGowan scored the only goal of the game away to Matlock Town to give Stamford the three points. However, they remain without a win at home, as they fell to a defeat against mid-table Halesowen Town. After Daniel Bragoli gave the visitors the lead, Shawn Richards levelled for Stamford. Halesowen would claim a 2-1 win though, as Jean-Michael Gueyes struck the decisive blow 16 minutes from time.

Grantham Town are fourth bottom after they twice let a lead slip at home to Skelmersdale United. Gregory Smith and Lee Beeson scored the goals for Grantham, but Gerard Kinsella and a late Kenneth Strickland penalty ensured the game finished 2-2.

Despite currently sitting in eighteenth place in the league, Marine have up to five games in hand on other teams. Last Saturday they won 1-0 at Frickley Athletic, Daniel Mitchley scored the only goal of the game after 39 minutes. However, they lost at home to Hyde United, 3-2, which was only their third defeat in the league. Sam Fitton scored an early double to put Hyde in control, before Luke Holden and Mitchley levelled in the second-half for Marine. Scott Spencer would have the final say though, as he won the game for Hyde in stoppage-time.

Halesowen Town are in the top half of the table despite defeat at home to Ashton United. Daniel Bragoli gave Halesowen the lead on the stroke of half-time. However, Martin Pilkington and Dale Johnson turned the game in Ashton’s favour, as they ran out 2-1 winners.

In the final game of the week Frickley Athletic came away from Mickleover Sports on Tuesday night with a 1-0 win. John Cyrus scored the only goal after 53 minutes to move Frickley up to thirteenth place in the league.

This coming weekend Darlington host Mickleover Sports in a rearranged fixture at Heritage Park. The two sides recently met in the reverse fixture at Mickleover with the Quakers coming out 5-1 winners. We then travel to West Auckland in the second round of the Durham Challenge Cup.

Elsewhere Blyth face trips to Buxton and Whitby Town in the league. Barwell, Salford City and Stourbridge are all in FA Cup action in the final qualifying round.
