This week Darlington were knocked out of the FA Trophy in the second qualifying round after a 1-0 defeat at Sutton Coldfield Town.
In the league Nantwich Town went top after a mid-week victory over Hyde United. All the goals were scored in the final 11 minutes, as Liam Shotton, Elliot Osborne and Joshua Gordon gave Nantwich a 3-0 win.
Salford City closed the gap on the top three and are now just two points behind Darlington. On Saturday they kept up their hundred percent away record by inflicting a first home league defeat on Workington. Jordan Hulme and Danny Webber gave Salford a 2-0 lead inside the first twenty minutes. Joseph McGee pulled one back for Workington, but further goals from Scott Burton and Richard Allen sealed the win for Salford.
However, Salford were held on Tuesday night to a 1-1 draw by Mickleover Sports. Richie Allen had given the Ammies the lead, but Anthony Griffiths Junior earned a point for Mickleover.
Grantham Town picked up a huge victory to move out of the relegation zone. They won 2-0 at home to Mickleover Sports thanks to goals from Greg Smith and Ben Saunders.
Stamford remain second bottom after their latest defeat, 3-1, away to Frickley Athletic. Stamford took the lead through Shawn Richard before Thomas McGowan scored an own goal which levelled the game. However, Bradley Grayson and Simon Lenighan scored further goals to win the game for Stamford.
Halesowen Town are in the top ten in the league after a 1-1 draw at home to Barwell. Anthony Carney gave Barwell the lead in the first half, only for Keyon Reffell to earn a point for Halesowen after the break.
In the FA Trophy Ashton United progressed with a 2-1 victory over Stratford Town. Jeff King gave Ashton the lead, but Edwin Ahenkorah equalised shortly after for the visitors. However, Ashton were able to progress after Anthony Charles put the ball into his own net.
Blyth Spartans also progressed after a 1-0 victory over Whitby Town. Damen Mullen scored the only goal of the game after 58 minutes.
Buxton cruised into the third qualifying round with a 5-1 win over Radcliffe Borough. Niall Doran, Fabrice Bembo-Leta, Ashley Burbeary, Liam Hardy and an Omar McKenzie own goal seeing Buxton progress.
Ilkeston FC have been knocked out by Stocksbridge Park. The first game at Ilkeston finished in a 1-1 draw, but they fell to a 3-2 defeat in the replay. Richard Patterson and Ben Rhodes put Stocksbridge in control before Jack Blake pulled one back for the visitors. Liam McFadyen regained the two goal lead for Stocksbridge, with a Richard Patterson own goal not being enough for Ilkeston.
Rushall Olympic are still waiting for their replay with Leamington. They drew the first game at Leamington 0-0, with the replay being postponed.
Likewise, Marine and Kidsgrove Athletic are awaiting their replay after it was called off. Their first game finished 2-2 with Marine coming from 2-0 down. Anthony Malbon scored twice to put Kidsgrove in control, but goals from Andy Nicholas and Chad Whyte earned the replay for Marine.
Nantwich Town are through after a 5-1 win over Kings Lynn Town. Lewis Shotton scored a hat-trick, with Stephen Jones and Lewis Short also on the scoresheet.
Matlock Town progressed with a 2-1 victory away to Shaw Lane Aquaforce. Nicolas Travis gave Matlock the lead early in the second half only for Steven Istead to level for Shaw Lane just five minutes later. Matlock were able to progress to the final qualifying round thanks to Danny Holland winning the game with half an hour to go.
Skelmersdale United beat Lincoln United 4-2, with all six goals coming in the second half. Anthony Rendell scored two for Skelmersdale, with Gerard Kinsella and Chris Almond getting the other goals for the hosts.
Stourbridge also moved into the next round with a 2-0 win over Carlton Town. Karl Hawley opened the scoring with Chris Lait sealing the victory with 14 minutes to go.
This weekend Darlington host Grantham Town at Heritage Park. Elsewhere leaders Nantwich Town travel to Ashton United.
